Understanding Camera Statuses in Your Pro-Vigil Portal
When you log into your Pro-Vigil customer portal, you will see different camera statuses that give you real-time insight into how your system is performing. Here is a quick guide to help you understand what each status means:
Total Cameras
This number represents all the cameras that are installed at your site. It is the full count of cameras currently set up, regardless of whether they are online, offline, or charging.
Online Cameras
These are the cameras that are currently active and have a live video feed. If your site is within its monitoring hours, these cameras are being actively monitored by our team. If it is outside of your scheduled monitoring hours, “online” simply means the cameras are recording and functioning, but not being actively monitored.
Offline Cameras
Offline cameras are not currently connected or transmitting any feed. This could happen for a few reasons, for example, if a mobile unit has been unplugged or if there is a temporary connectivity issue. Our team monitors these changes closely to make sure everything is restored as needed.
Solar Charging
This status applies to solar-powered mobile units. When you see “solar charging,” it means the system is in its charging cycle. During this time, the cameras are not recording or transmitting video. This is expected behavior during daylight hours when the system powers down to allow the batteries to recharge. Once monitoring hours begin, these cameras will come back online automatically.
We hope this breakdown helps you better understand what you are seeing in your portal. If you ever have questions or notice something unusual, our support team is always here to help.
