Customer Best Practices for Monitoring
Recommended Customer Best Practices
Please review the following best practices for your site security. Following these will give our surveillance agents who monitor your site the information needed to succeed.
Authorized vs. Unauthorized Activity and Site Access:
- Authorize your security guards, cleaning crews, delivery drivers, and other 3rd parties with a Security PIN to access your business after hours.
- Note on your site protocols the names and logos of your authorized security guards, cleaning crews, delivery services, and other 3rd parties for easy reference by our surveillance agents.
- Have your security guard, cleaning crew, or delivery driver call Pro-Vigil’s automated system prior to entering your site. Remember, they’ll need to use their Security PIN
- Ask your cleaning crew to wear visibly identifiable clothing/reflective vests so that they are easily recognizable by our surveillance agents.
- Direct early or late staff to call Pro-Vigil using their personal Security PIN when arriving at the site or remaining on-site during monitoring hours.
-
To avoid false call-outs and false alarms, have the last manager on property arm the site at night and the first manager arriving on-site to disarm the site with their Security PIN for staff.
Camera Information:
- Ensure the camera views include the assets that need to be protected; rather than looking out to public streets. Public street activity is out of our control.
- If lighting is poor or unavailable at night; add thermal cameras at the site perimeters or additional lighting.
-
Adding specific information on Camera Views, as well as directional information will allow our surveillance agents to make informed decisions and quickly relay information when calling.
- E.g.: CAM 3 is on the NE Corner of the Main Building and faces the New Car Front Lot. MDX123 is located on the SE Corner of the site and faces the CONEX with high-value material’s inside. CAM6 is on the 3rd Floor Parking Lot showing Resident Parking.
